Talkin’ Death Of Democracy Blues

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change

Courage to change the things I can

And wisdom to know the difference.

Uh huh.

Are you freaking kidding me?

Sure, the Serenity Prayer is fine and dandy

If you’re working at staying sober

But it ain’t much use to folks like us who know democracy is over!

Let’s see what we got here:

A lunatic’s in charge of the nukes

Yellowstone’s gonna get fracked

The DOJ and the courts are complicit

We ain’t never getting democracy back

That’s right

Meat ain’t gonna be inspected

Experts ignored and rejected

While the world is laughing

He’ll say we’ve never been more respected

On top of that

Social Security is publishing propaganda

Good people are being disappeared

Vaccines are being banned

Of course it feels like the end is near!

Now he’s building death camps

Sending good folks to the swamps

This can’t be what

Most folks in the U.S. want

Or is it?

I could go on.

But, the hell with it—

I’ll try the damn thing one more time before I give up. I mean what the hell do I have to lose except existential dread and all the depressing BS that goes with it?
